Our Vision
Our vision is to Do the will of God specifically to carry out the mission of our Savior to seek and save the lost. Jesus changed lives. He gave us a mission of reconciliation. With this said, individually and collectively we will live for Christ so That All May Know Jesus by helping every person in the church and those beyond our walls to be a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ. To accomplish this vision, we will reach out to ALL people with the love and saving grace of Jesus, and we will aid each person on their journey of faith to be transformed into His likeness with ever increasing glory. We believe this vision can be accomplished through the four functional areas of the church by focusing on: Edification – encouraging others in the joy of Jesus, Benevolence – meeting physical needs to assist in spiritual growth, Evangelism – encouraging others in the Good News of Jesus Christ, and Worship – praising God together as a Family – Transforming Lives.
Picayune wants to serve in the middle of the mighty works God is already doing around us. By focusing on our vision – being fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ – we believe Outreach, and Family will continue to help shape and strengthen God’s Kingdom here in Picayune. As we step out in faith to join Him in His work, we are asking each person to use the time, talents and treasures that God has graciously given us to honor and glorify Him. May God continue to bless our work as we engage in this VISION OF FAITH!
OUTREACH | Sharing Christ, Serving Others
Our purpose is to engage every member at Picayune in reaching out to others. This will be accomplished by equipping each person to actively participate in one or more of our many outreach opportunities. Outreach opportunities include support to Angola, Thailand, Nicaragua, and local support of homeless and community through Picayune Disaster Relief. Serving others will be a priority and an expectation in our efforts to share Christ with our community and the world.
FAMILY | Transforming Lives
Our purpose is to care for the family of God here at Picayune – each individual from birth through old age, ensuring that every effort is made to support and strengthen our family through each generational passage. Just as Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and men, we seek to do all that is necessary to shape and guide every person, single or married, child or senior adult, toward becoming a well-rounded follower of Christ. The goal is for the Church to be a central part of each person’s life.
RELATIONSHIPS | Connecting with One Another
While serving with one another, and doing life together strong relationships will develop that will draw us closer to God and to each other. Through our Bible classes and other small group settings, we believe environments are being designed to create authentic relationships and build community. By following the Biblical model of fellowship, we are confident that God will strengthen our connections with one another.
